As Director of European Programmes at Vocalink I wanted to explore different European markets that our core payments business could operate in. I didn’t just want to hypothesise though I wanted 3 things to identify the most appealing market, shape our products accordingly and start to position these products commercially to target customers.
This is run of the mill stuff in business – however I didn’t get a run of the mill service – far from it!!
 
I had approached Go Beyond to provide me with support in developing an informed strategy, underpinning business case and implementation plan that the Executive Team could buy into – I needed help understanding the many different constraints and opportunities that exist across the European landscape. The experience that Go Beyond team has by way of having delivered all manner and scale of change, finance and payments industry understanding, passion and networks / contacts meant that not only were we able to achieve all of the above success criteria but we were also able to progress commercial relationships with the introductions that Steve Adams and his team provided.
 
Six weeks in to the piece of work - the initial brief for Go Beyond expanded with a Sales review being undertaken and an end to end look at the businesses operating model. Real involved pieces of work undertaken with a great deal of professionalism and skill in delivering messages to stakeholders.
 
Certainly the investment made in Go Beyond has paid back many times over – and I now have a team available to call on for other work who already understand how the VL business operates.
